Email lifecycle overview
A new SendTmp address starts with 3 hours and can be extended one hour at a time, up to 24 hours. The lifespans of the address, messages, attachments, and forwarding archives are different.
After creating or switching addresses, the clock starts with a full three hours.
Each extension adds one hour, but the disposable mailbox cannot be renewed indefinitely.
This archive period applies to email forwarding aliases, not disposable inboxes.
When you open the home page, the system generates a random address and access token while recording the creation and expiration times. No registration is required, and you can copy the address to a target website as soon as it is generated.
Your browser stores the temporary state needed to restore the current mailbox after a page refresh. Expiration is determined by timestamps, not by directly comparing date strings.
The sender first generates the message and then delivers it to the current address through mail servers. Refreshing the page only checks whether SendTmp has received it; it cannot speed up the sender’s queue.
The message may not appear if the address was mistyped, the sender blocks disposable emails, or the entire message exceeds 100 MB. Repeatedly clicking refresh does not change these upstream conditions.
Once a real message arrives, the demo messages are removed and the page shows only real mail. Opening a row requests the complete details again, which supports cases where the list provides only a preview.
Disposable email is for reading message content, not storing attachments. Important files, receipts, or information you need to find later should be moved to a real mailbox or forwarding alias.
While the current process is still active, you can extend the validity by one hour. The countdown updates using the new expiration time returned by the server, keeping the browser in sync with the actual status.
An extension is not a permanent renewal; a disposable address lasts no longer than 24 hours. If you expect another message tomorrow or next week, extending it is not the right solution.
Switching addresses creates a completely new mailbox, token, and three-hour timer, then clears the old mailbox. It does not edit the prefix or migrate old messages to the new inbox.
Read anything you need before switching. A new address is suitable for starting a fresh short-term task, not for continuing communication about an existing account.
When the countdown reaches zero, the old address is no longer a reliable way to receive mail and enters automatic cleanup. Late messages may be unreadable, so do not submit important forms close to expiration.
The address may later return to the system’s available pool. For this reason, disposable email should not be tied to a long-term identity or used as the only account-recovery address.
| Item | When it appears | When it disappears or stops working | What it is suitable for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Disposable address | When created or switched | When the page countdown ends, up to 24 hours | Short-lived verification codes and one-time links |
| Disposable email content | After the message arrives | When the current mailbox is cleared | Information needed for the current task |
| Forwarding alias | Created after logging in | Deleted by the user; delivery stops when paused | Ongoing subscriptions and long-term contact points |
| Forwarding archive | When mail arrives at the alias | Up to 30 days or until deleted by the user | Recent viewing, downloading, and retrying |
| Copy in your real mailbox | After forwarding succeeds | Determined by your email provider’s rules | Records you need to keep long term |
“24 hours” is the maximum lifespan of a disposable mailbox after extensions; “30 days” is the window for logged-in forwarding users to view recent archives. Creating a disposable mailbox does not automatically provide 30-day storage, and creating an alias does not turn a disposable inbox into a long-term mailbox.
Check before expiration
These actions reduce the risk of late messages and lost important information, but they cannot turn a disposable mailbox into a long-term recovery channel.
Wait for the sender to complete delivery, then refresh manually once. Do not close the inbox just because you saw a “sent” confirmation page.
Open the details from the list and confirm that the verification code, links, and sender information are complete. Do not rely on preview text alone.
When it is safe to do so, move information you genuinely need to long-term storage; a disposable mailbox is not a filing system.
If the website will also send confirmation, billing, or recovery emails, switch the account immediately to a real mailbox or long-term alias.
